Overview
A collaboration server goes beyond traditional email by providing tools and protocols that support shared access to calendars, contacts, documents, and other data across users and devices. Stalwart is designed with these capabilities in mind, functioning not just as a mail server but as a standards-based collaboration platform.
WebDAV
WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) extends the HTTP protocol with operations for remote content management: creating, editing, and deleting files, as well as accessing and synchronising calendars and contacts. WebDAV is widely used in collaborative environments for file sharing, calendar coordination, and contact management.
Calendar
Stalwart includes full support for calendar management and scheduling through the JMAP and CalDAV protocols, covering creation, access, and synchronization of calendar data across devices and applications.
Scheduling
Calendar scheduling coordinates meetings and events by automating the exchange of invitations. Rather than relying on manual email, calendar scheduling systems handle communication between organisers and attendees, track participation status, and manage updates and cancellations in real time.
Notifications
Calendar email notifications in Stalwart deliver alerts for upcoming events directly to an account's email inbox. These notifications are triggered by alarms defined within calendar entries using the iCalendar standard.
Contacts
Stalwart includes built-in support for contact management and synchronization through JMAP for Contacts and CardDAV, covering storage, access, and maintenance of address book data across devices and applications.
File Storage
Stalwart includes support for file storage and remote file management through the JMAP for File Storage and WebDAV protocols, allowing accounts to store, organise, and access files directly.
Sharing
Stalwart supports resource sharing across calendars, address books, and file storage. Sharing is available for team scheduling, centralised contact management, and document collaboration.
